Ilsan Lake Park is located in Goyang-si opened in 1996. It is the largest artificial lake park in Asia. The park is an ideal place to take a rest and enjoy the natural scenery. There are over 100 different kinds of wild flowers, a forest with more than 200,000 trees, and a healthy population of red-crowned cranes. It is also a popular as a family picnic spot and school fieldtrip destination.
Some of the facilities include a waterfront square, an artificial island, bike path, parking , three playgrounds, a nature experience center, and a music fountain. The lake park also hosts Goyang Korea Flower Show and other fairs and exhibitions.
The IIsan Lake Musical Fountain is located at the far Northwestern end of the Ilsan Lake Park. It was built in 2004 and created by 1,655 nozzles with 35 basic shapes and 500 different patterns. During the summer months there is a one hour light show in the evenings where the water dances to different types of music making it a spectacular view.
