Today we’re going to Hama Rikyu Gardens (浜離宮恩賜庭園, ‘Hama-rikyū Onshi Teien’), a beautiful public park located at the mouth of the Sumida River.

Built in 1654 as a villa and garden for the Shogun, it was opened to the public in 1946. With an entrance fee of ¥300, it’s a perfect place to admire the beautiful autumn leaves (紅葉狩り, ‘momijigari’).
