Formerly Daang Hari Expressway Link, AC Infrastructure’s project and the Aquino government’s first completed PPP Project began it’s maiden operations on Friday July 24, 2015 – 2PM. Renamed as Muntilupa Cavite Expressway it makes travel time from South Luzon Expressway to Daang Hari Cavite faster. This video tackles all the possible entrance and exit of the 5km expressway.
According to press release, toll fees for class 1 vehicle is Php17.00 and it is free for the first month. It was an exciting afternoon! E-pass interoperability with SLTC / compatible.
There was typo error it was SLEX NB not SLEX SB upon entering Susana heights mea culpa.
My concerns for this new project were –
1. Narrow entry points NB and SB. What if there are vehicle breakdown, it would be another South-Station-ish problem.
2. For it’s initial opening to the public, MCX can add more road signs and directions and make them visible and bigger since if you will observe some of the signs locations are not that visible to the drivers eye.
3. Signs over the toll plaza booth are really small, for the case of ETC sign board, unlike SLEX and NLEX, their etc lines have distinguish signs, for MCX they are all the same with cash making it a little harder to see.
4. The Sampaguita overpass – is it safe – I fear there might be rock throwing incident here someday or worst suicide spot
5. The rotunda needs proper study, from the opening operations date, waze has reported a slow traffic along the rotunda. And it does not really look like a rotunda.
6. Lack of billboards and information dissemination along SLEX that MCX is already open.
Well after the much criticism from the public because of the delays of this project it is finally operating. As they said, it is better to be late than never. More roads means more progress! 🙂
