During a 4 weeks stay in Yokohama, Japan, in the spring of 2012 in connection with my job, I managed to take a weekend trip to Hiroshima. I wanted to see the Peace Memorial Park, Miyajima and the Mazda Museum.
I took the train from Shin-Yokohama station to Hiroshima with the Nozomi Shinkansen (fastest line). It took around 4 hours. It was my first time riding train in Japan and a great pleasure I must say. The signs and help from the train staff is so good.
Note that trains are very expensive in Japan but very efficient, comfortable and on time. Due to the cost it is highly recommendable to buy a Japan Rail Pass before coming to Japan. (You can check the prices at the webpage:
