Shima Onsen Kashiwaya Ryokan – Traditional Japanese Onsen Hotel in Gunma, Japan

Caity and Miski went to Kashiwaya Ryokan in the famous onsen (hot spring) town Shima.

Shima is located in northern Gunma Prefecture, only a couple hours north of Tokyo. The area is full of vibrant natural scenery not as easily found in the Tokyo area, making it an excellent place to stop between cities on your visit to Japan, or the perfect weekend getaway for international residents in Japan!

Kashiwaya Ryokan is a traditional Japanese inn with beautiful private open-air baths available to all guests. As you’ll see in the video, Caity and Miski can hear the nearby river, which just adds to the natural ambience of the hotel.
