▼About Chichibu Yomatsuri Night Festival
It is an annual festival of Chichibu Shrine, the main shrine of Chichibu. It is counted as one of the “Nihon Sandai Hikiyama Matsuri” along with the Gion Festival in Kyoto and the Takayama Festival in Hida, and is held on December 2 and 3 every year.
On the day of the festival, 2 gorgeous Kasaboko and 4 floats will be pulled. The climax is on the night of the 3rd, and kasaboko and food stalls of up to 20 tons pull up a steep slope called Dangozaka (Dangozaka), which is very powerful.
