紅葉が美しい宮城県の国指定名勝である磐司岩は、姉滝の西、名取川の左岸を「表磐司」と呼び、渓谷に臨んで岩の屏風をめぐらせたようにそそり立つ姿が見られる。高さ80〜150メートルの岸壁が3km以上も連なっているパノラマは圧巻の光景です。二口渓谷の景勝地の中でも殊に有名で、絶壁のところどころには滝がかかり、新緑と紅葉の季節とても美しい風景を彩ります。磐司という名前はマタギの祖と言われる狩人の兄弟、磐次郎・磐三郎がこの山に住んで猟をしていたという伝説に由来しています。
Autumn leaves of the Banji-iwa rock of the Futakuchi canyon which is a beautiful landscape of Japan.Futakuchi canyon is a canyon on the western side of Sendai City, Miyagi prefecture tohoku Japan, located upstream of Natori River and has a total length of 8 kilometers.One of them, the Banji Rock is a huge tuff rock wall with a height of 150 meters and the autumn colors of this place are very beautiful.
