Mount Fuji is one of Japan’s “Three Holy Mountains”. It is also a Special Place of Scenic Beauty and one of Japan’s Historic Sites. It was added to the to the World Heritage List as a Cultural Site.

Kawaguchiko is actually the lake, while the town is Kawaguchi, however most people refer to the town as Kawaguchiko. The township, is located on the Southern side of Kawaguchiko, between the lake and Mount Fuji. Kawaguchiko is part of Fuji Five Lakes system, within the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park.
