In my normal life, I stopped going to movie theaters. I generally had a much better experience just watching movies on my computer at home. But going to a theater in a new country is always fun and interesting.

When I was walking around my new neighborhood in Mawlamyine, I was pleased to find out that there was a popular movie theater just a block or two away from my guest house. It wasn’t a classic vintage theater unfortunately. It was a modern theater and part of a large chain of movie houses, but it was showing a movie (a comedy) that was made in Myanmar. So I checked out the movie times, and I went there for the six o’clock show.

There was a lot of food for thought in that experience, and I talk about the movie after it was over.

Cheers,
