I took a video of the autumn leaves at Murin-an in Kyoto.

Most tourists will head to NanzenMost tourists will head to Nanzen-ji Temple when they get off at Keage Station, but Murin-an is a special place where you can spend a quiet time away from the fight while Nanzenji is busy.
Although it is not taken up too much in the guidebook, if you enter a small wooden door, it is a different world where the garden is very beautiful, quiet and there are few tourists.
This is a good place for those who want a quiet time.
There are the Mt. Higashiyama and Mt. Hieizan behind.
These mountains are used as the part of this garden.
This is a kind of techniques of making Japanese garden.
We call this technique borrowed landscape.
Because of this, it feels very wide although the site area is small.
The contrast between red leaves and greens such as pine is very beautiful, and so picturesque, including the pruning of branches and the beauty of moss.
The western-style building inside has a conference room where seniors of the Meiji period gathered and decided to open the Russo-Japanese War.

南禅寺の周辺には、疎水の水を引いて作られた美しい別荘が数多く作られており、現在は京都市の所有になっている「無鄰菴」もそのひとつです。
蹴上駅で降りるとほとんどの観光客は南禅寺に向かうと思いますが、南禅寺方面が賑わう中、無鄰菴は喧噪を離れて静かな時間を過ごすことができる特別な場所です。
ガイドブックにもあまり大きく取り上げられていませんが、小さな木戸を入るとそこは別世界で、庭園が大変美しく、静かで観光客が少ない穴場です。
静かな時間を求める方にお勧めです。
庭園は東山を借景にしているため、敷地面積の割にはとても広く感じられます。
紅葉の赤と松などの緑の対比がとても美しく、枝の剪定、苔の美しさも含めて、絵画のようです。
ここの洋館には、明治期の元老たちが集まって日露戦争の開戦を決めたという会議室があります。
