Takatoriyama hiking near Yokosuka navy base | Japan Outdoors Guide

Takatoriyama is a great hiking course starting a jumuji station near Ikego housing for Yokosuka navy base. The trailhead is at the temple about a 15 min walk from the station or back gate of the base. It takes you through the mountains past HUGE rock climbing walls. You can ever see a old buddha carved into the mountain side. I believe I read this area is where they used to havest minerals and stone before WWII. I ended this hike at oppama station. Total time with breaks was about 3 hours.
