► Minatomirai is located in Yokohama Bay, and is a small “city within the city” of Yokohama. It centers around a huge shopping complex, a 12 screen movietheatre, Cosmo World Amusement Park, 3 major hotels & Yokohama Ports Shopping Complex. There’s not much distinct Japanese about this maze of walkways and escalators, except for some good Japanese restaurants, a Pokemon Center, Hello Kitty Land and stuff like that. But it’s a popular place to spend a weekend afternoon – especially for families with kids!
If you are in Tokyo for 10 days or more, it may be worth going there, and the place delivers if you’re in need of a fix of Western junk (-food), as this place hosts wellknown chains, such as Krispy Kreme, Hard Rock Cafe, Coldstone, Starbucks, Bubbys Diner, etc. Easy access from central Tokyo by Toyoko- or Fukutoshin-line. – Enjoy!
