As budget backpackers, we know all the best ways to save money while traveling through Japan. One tip is to rent a bike for the day instead of paying lots of money for the expensive public transportation. In doing so, we spend 500 yen per person on bike rentals in Kyoto and save ourselves over 500 yen each to go sightseeing along the Philosopher’s Path also known as Tetsugaku no michi.
