常照寺は京都鷹峰（たかがみね）にあるお寺。寛永（1624-44）年代、女人成仏を説く日乾上人に帰依した吉野太夫が寄進した朱塗りの山門「吉野門」が目を引きます。境内の紅葉は見事で、太陽の光に映える様は幻想的ですらありますが、散った落ち葉が絨毯のように見える散り紅葉も見逃せない美しさです。

Joshoji Temple is famous for its front gate called “Yoshino-mon”, which is donated to the temple by the famous courtesan Yoshino Tayu about 400 years ago. Joshoji Temple is also famous for its Autumn leaves and the garden is looks like red carpet by fallen Autumn leaves.
