OSAKA (TR) – Police in Osaka City are hunting for two suspects who used a vehicle to smash into a trading card shop early Tuesday, making off with approximately 1.5 million yen worth of merchandise, reports Fuji News Network (Apr. 28).

At around 4:00 a.m., a vehicle plowed into the metal shutter of a card shop located in the Nanbanaka area of Naniwa Ward, completely destroying the storefront’s entrance.

Security camera footage captured the brazen break-in. Following a deafening crash, two figures are seen entering the store, shattering the glass of a display case, and frantically stuffing items into bags.

According to the shop, the perpetrators primarily targeted highly sought-after Pokémon trading cards. The total value of the stolen inventory is estimated at roughly 1.5 million yen.

“I really think they just grabbed whatever they could get their hands on,” a bewildered store employee told reporters. “Why would they do something like this? I simply cannot understand their mindset.”

Osaka police are currently reviewing the surveillance footage and investigating the incident as a case of theft.
