Police in western Japan are investigating the deaths of a mother and daughter in Osaka Prefecture as a possible murder. The two were found dead at their home with multiple stab wounds and cuts.
Murakami Kazuko, who was 76 years old, and her daughter Yuka, who was a 41-year-old certified social worker, were found dead at their home in an apartment in Izumi City on Wednesday.
The two had stab wounds and cuts mainly on the head, neck and back. They also had wounds apparently caused when resisting the possible attacker. But cutlery suspected to be used in the attacks has yet to be found at the site.
Investigators said the two each sustained at least 10 wounds.
The police suspect that the victims were likely attacked repeatedly. They are collecting information about any suspicious individuals seen in the neighborhood at around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, which is the estimated time of the death of the two.
