Situated in Kyoto’s Gion district, Kichi Kichi Omurice has become a bucket-list stop thanks to Chef Motokichi Yukimura. His highly theatrical preparation of omurice — a Japanese comfort dish consisting of chicken fried rice with a soft-centered omelet and demi-glace sauce — has blown up all over TikTok and Instagram.

And now, he’s taking his show on the road! While multiple pop-ups have been held all over the world, it’ll be the first time American audiences get a taste of the dish prepared live by the chef himself!

Where is the pop-up taking place?

The first-ever U.S. tour will have stops in Miami, New York and Los Angeles, each featuring a multi-course menu highlighting the host restaurants’ signature dishes centered around Yukimura’s omurice. Guests can experience an intimate format (with extremely limited seating) while the chef brings his signature energy and technique each night.

Here’s where to experience the meal in Miami:

April 17-18: YASU Omakase — seatings at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

April 19: The Joyce — lunch at 12:30 p.m. and dinner at 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

April 20-21: KARYU — lunch at 12:30 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

How to get a reservation

Reservations for the Miami run can be booked exclusively through Dorsia, with access extended to both members and non-members. Though keep in mind that because of the global hype surrounding Kichi Kichi, availability is incredibly limited and you may even come across sold out bookings.
