Pale blue nemophila flowers are seen in full bloom on a riverbank across from the Ao-no-Domon tunnel, a popular tourist spot in Nakatsu, Oita Prefecture, on April 5, 2026. About 800,000 nemophila plants spread across roughly 8,000 square meters, swaying in the spring breeze against the backdrop of steep cliffs to the delight of visitors. A festival will be held on April 12 featuring taiko drumming and kagura dance performances, along with a local food market. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. but will be canceled in case of rain.
