Malaysia Airlines is expanding its East Asia network with direct flights to Fukuoka in Japan and new services to Shenzhen and Changsha in China, giving travellers more options for work or leisure trips.

The Kuala Lumpur–Shenzhen route will operate seven times weekly from 1 July 2026, while flights to Changsha start on 8 July 2026 with the same frequency. Services to Fukuoka return on 2 September 2026, five times a week, marking the airline’s comeback to the Japanese city after 20 years.

Captain Nasaruddin A. Bakar, President and Group CEO of Malaysia Aviation Group, said, “Both Shenzhen and Changsha align perfectly with our network strategy, driven by robust demand across both business and leisure segments. The return to Fukuoka further enhances our network depth. As the only carrier operating direct flights on this route, we are proud to offer passengers a seamless non-stop experience.”

These new destinations bring Malaysia Airlines’ China network to nine key cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Taipei and Chengdu Tianfu. The airline said ticket sales for the new flights are open now to meet growing travel demand and strengthen connectivity across the region.

In addition, Malaysia Airlines is increasing frequencies on routes to Brisbane, Manila and Colombo to support rising tourism and business travel, while ad-hoc flights to London in April will assist passengers affected by disruptions from Middle Eastern carriers.
