The press tour for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie continued in Tokyo, Japan, where Anya Taylor-Joy kept the floral theme going.

With cherry blossoms this time providing the perfect backdrop, the actress wore a duchesse satin, Old Masters-inspired floral-embroidered corset dress with a draped bow detail from Sarah Burton’s Givenchy Fall 2026 collection.
At first glance, it looks like the dress is worn with trousers, or even a jumpsuit, but those are matching thigh-high Givenchy Shark Lock boots, complete with the house’s signature fold-over detail, which cleverly extends the floral narrative through the full look.
What makes this particularly effective is how the embroidery interacts with the setting. While the florals aren’t a literal reference to Japanese motifs, the richness and scale of the blooms echo the visual impact of cherry blossom season. It feels beautifully aligned with the atmosphere rather than thematic.
Some might not be sold on the boots with this dress, especially with its a theatrical quality But I like how they stop the look from feeling too precious and provide a confident balance between romance and attitude.
At this point, the consistency of this press tour is very hard to ignore. This marks five strong looks – six if you include the Japanese Grand Prix.
I’m already curious to see where she takes us next.
