TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto continued his state visit to Seoul, South Korea, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Prabowo arrived in the capital of the Republic of Korea on Tuesday night, following his previous stop in Tokyo, Japan.

Traveling aboard the Garuda Indonesia-1 aircraft, the President touched down at the Seongnam Military Airbase at approximately 7:15 p.m. local time. Upon his arrival in Seongnam, he was formally welcomed with a state honor ceremony.

According to the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo was greeted by a 20-person honor guard. The welcoming procession was further enlivened by a 21-gun salute.

Following the ceremony, Prabowo was received by South Korean Minister of Climate, Energy, and Environment Kim Sung-whan, Ambassador-Designate to Indonesia Yoon Soon-gu, and Chief Protocol Officer Kim Tae-jin.

The welcoming party also included Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea Cecep Herawan and Defense Attaché in Seoul Colonel Muhammad Arif. From Seongnam, Prabowo proceeded to the capital, Seoul.

During his stay in the city, President Prabowo is scheduled for a series of high-level engagements, including a welcoming ceremony hosted by South Korean President Lee Jae-myung at the Blue House. Cheong Wa Dae, which translates to the Blue House, serves as the executive office of the South Korean presidency.

This visit to South Korea forms a part of Prabowo’s official tour across the East Asian region. Before arriving in Seoul, the President was in Japan from March 29 to 31. He is scheduled to remain in South Korea until April 1.

While in Japan, Prabowo met with several top-ranking officials, including Emperor Naruhito, who hosted him at the Tokyo Imperial Palace, and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, who received the Indonesian delegation at the Akasaka Palace.
