AnimeJapan organizers have announced a historic change for the event by revealing that the convention will move to Osaka for the 2027 and 2028 iterations.
A new teaser trailer features actor Sono Hiramatsu traveling from Tokyo to Osaka to highlight the upcoming relocation.
The 2027 and 2028 events are scheduled to take place at Intex Osaka, which stands as the third-largest event space in Japan.
This move follows news that Tokyo Big Sight, the traditional home of the event, will undergo extensive renovations starting next year.

The Osaka Convention and Tourism Bureau has signed on to sponsor the event for its two-year stay in the city.
AnimeJapan has been a staple of the industry at Tokyo Big Sight since March 2014, with only a 2020 cancellation and a 2021 online shift breaking its physical tenure.

The convention originally formed as a merger between the Tokyo International Anime Fair and the Anime Contents Expo.
The dates for AnimeJapan 2027 are confirmed for March 27 to March 30.
Public attendees can visit Intex Osaka on March 27 and March 28, 2027, while business days will follow on March 29 and March 30, 2027, at a location yet to be named.
