【HD】Narai-juku Post Station Town, Nagano | 長野 奈良井宿 ~日本一長い宿場通り~

Narai-juku, as the Kyoto side entrance, starts from Shizume-jinja (shrine) near Torii-tōge’s entrance; by descending slowly along Narai-gawa (river), this town lies about one kilometer along the Nakasen-dō, which is one of the longest posting station streets in Japan. It was designated an Important Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings on May 31st 1978, and in 2007 selected as Japan’s 100 most beautiful historical landscapes, which conveys the historical climate of Japan.

奈良井宿は鳥居峠上り口の鎮神社を京都側の入り口として、奈良井川に沿って緩やかに下りながらおよそ1キロメートルの中山道沿いに町並が形成されていて、おそらく日本一長い宿場通りです。昭和53年5月31日に国の重要伝統的建物群保存地区に指定され、平成19年に日本の歴史的風土を伝える、「美しい日本の歴史的風土百選」に選定されました。
