The world’s largest anime convention, AnimeJapan, will relocate from Tokyo to Osaka for 2027 and 2028. The event, which has been held in Tokyo since its debut in 2014, will take place at INTEX Osaka from March 27 to 30 next year.
AnimeJapan brings in more than 150,000 attendees from over 100 countries and regions. The 2026 event featured more than 200 exhibitors, around 300 titles, and over 300 stage appearances with the theme “Everything About Anime Is Here.”
The event offers public days with exhibitions and stage events, along with business days for industry meetings, attracting fans and professionals worldwide.
Regarding the venue change, the AnimeJapan organizing committee explained that the move aims to bring anime to a broader global audience, noting Osaka’s history as an international hub and its role in hosting the Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai. The committee added that it hopes to deliver new experiences and discoveries to fans while continuing to showcase anime on a global stage.
