A fast-casual Japanese restaurant is debuting in Frisco this weekend, and to celebrate the opening, the first 100 customers will receive a free entrée.

With more than 500 locations around the world, Pepper Lunch is finally bringing a location to the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

“Frisco is an incredible community with a dynamic and growing food scene,” Phil Guo, owner and operator of Pepper Lunch’s Frisco location, said in a news release. “As a local resident, I’m proud to introduce Pepper Lunch to our neighbors and bring this unique, high-quality dining experience to Warren Parkway. We’re just getting started and look forward to expanding across North Texas.”

To celebrate the opening on Saturday, the first 100 customers will receive a free beef pepper rice, Pepper Lunch’s signature dish, the news release said. Every guest after the first 100 who dines in from Saturday through Monday can get a buy one, get one beef pepper rice.

The dish is served on a sizzling hot plate and includes beef and rice topped with a pepper paste and cracked black pepper. Guests mix the ingredients themselves.

Other menu items are chicken pepper rice, hamburger teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, pasta and various curry, seafood and steak dishes.

Guo plans to expand Pepper Lunch across the region, with additional locations planned for Carrollton, Plano, Prosper and McKinney, the release said. The Frisco location will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday to Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
