Dana Zhang, who co-owns Osaka Hibachi Sushi & Bar with Jie Weng, said first-time customers often find them while doing an internet search for hibachi or sushi, but they soon become repeat customers.
“They try the food and say it’s so delicious,” Zhang said. “Our fresh food is made with fresh and high-quality ingredients and we have friendly service—that’s what brings the customers back.”
Osaka Hibachi Sushi & Bar opened in 2022 in Frisco.
On the menu
Zhang said Osaka’s menu includes authentic Japanese dishes such as hibachi, sushi and ramen.
Osaka’s Frisco roll—featuring scallop, spicy tuna, mango and topped with spicy crab, eel sauce and spicy mayo—is a top selling sushi option.
Frisco roll ($17.25) features scallop, tempura, spicy tuna and mango wrapped with soy paper, topped with spicy crab, seaweed, masago, eel sauce and spicy mayo. Hibachi is prepared in the kitchen and served in the dining area or at one of multiple hibachi stations. Hibachi lunch specials are also available.
“Most parties with kids like to sit at the hibachi grill and have the show because they have the time and they like the fun experience,” Zhang said. “But a couple might not want to do that. They just want to enjoy the meal.”
Miso ramen is another customer favorite menu item. Zhang explained that this dish, like all their dishes, has spice level customization options.
