Okayama Castle 🏯 Japan’s Black ‘Crow Castle’ | Samurai History & Museum Tour

Okayama Castle is one of Japan’s most striking castles.

Known as the ‘Crow Castle’ because of its striking black exterior, the original castle was built in 1597 during Japan’s samurai era.

Inside the castle museum you can explore fascinating exhibits including:

Look up to see the famous golden Shachihoko fish ornaments, mythical creatures believed to protect the castle from fire.
