Tokyo Sakura 2026 – First Blossoms on Sumida River 4K HDR

Shiori Park along the Sumida River is one of my favorite places to checkout early cherry blossoms around the second week of March in Tokyo. They have planted a beautiful assortment of 2 sakura varieties that bloom one after another just after the Kawazu blossoms, but before the main Somei Yoshino come out. This video captures the first variety but maybe next weekend the pinker variety along the running path will also come in bloom; it’s always a short window to catch both at the same time!
