This is my trip to Kobe to try Kobe beef, the world best well known for its quality. First of all, I’m just gonna say it’s WORTH it to just go to Kobe for the beef.
While it has the best quality beef 🥩 , it has taken hundred of years to perfect this quality. I appreciate the amount of work and effort that Japanese famers has done for their beef. There are strict rules to be considered as Kobe beef.
As far as traveling goes, use the Bullet Train if you’re coming from Tokyo. Booking a restaurant could be challenging. If you travel in a group of 4 people or more, I’d recommend looking up and booking in advance. Some restaurants take reservation a month prior. The reason being many restaurants don’t seat a lot of people. Many only have 8-10 seats. The other trick that might work is having receptionist at your hotel call and book a reservation for you, but I would only use this as the last resort.
If you’re in Kobe, I would say any restaurant will provide good quality beef. I would recommend going during the lunch time where more affordable menu is available.
