MESSING AROUND IN JAPAN: Summer is nearly here and it’s already as sweaty as a carpenter’s sock. Time to hit the beach then. If you’re in the Tokyo area and have access to a car, Kujukurihama (九十九里浜) in Chiba is a pretty decent option. It certainly avoids the crowds of the Shonan region. No point in dressing up in this part of Japan, though. No body cares.
