Experience a 1958 Tokyo Japan Food Tour at the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum!
If you visit, the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum in Japan, head downstairs to the basement for a real adventure. Along the way, we pass unique displays, that showcase the variety of bowls, and how they are paired with the different types, and eras of ramen. Reaching the bottom, the lighting and atmosphere start to shift. And you are transported to a stunning, detailed replica, of a 1958 Tokyo streetscape. 1958 was chosen because it’s when instant ramen was invented. The basement is designed to feel like a bustling, eternal night, with period-specific posters, signs, lighting, and architecture. And even better, there are nine different ramen shops, where you can order and try a variety of authentic ramen styles. Finally, no visit is complete, without checking out the gift shop.
