Government aims to capture 30% share of global market, on par with US and China

TOKYO — The Japanese government plans to target 40 trillion yen ($253.53 billion) in sales of domestically produced semiconductors by 2040, a move to capitalize on growing demand from artificial intelligence and data centers.
