1 Hotel Tokyo has commenced operations in the Akasaka Trust Tower, marking the entry of 1 Hotels into the Japanese market.

Situated across six upper floors, the property provides guests with views of notable Tokyo landmarks, including the Imperial Palace gardens and Tokyo Tower.

The hotel is positioned within the Tokyo World Gate Akasaka development, a project led by Mori Trust, which allows access to central districts such as Ginza, Roppongi, and Shibuya.

The design of 1 Hotel Tokyo incorporates elements that reference both Japanese building traditions and an emphasis on natural materials.

International architecture and design studio CRÈME developed the interior concept.

The public spaces and guest rooms feature natural surfaces, greenery, and recycled materials. Many rooms offer city or garden views.

The hotel contains 211 accommodation options, including 24 suites and three penthouses, as well as three dining venues.

Event services span more than 460m² on the 38th floor, with spaces available for a range of functions. The Sakura and Camellia event rooms, as well as private dining areas, occupy this level.

These facilities support zero-waste planning and use local sourcing practices under 1 Hotel’s Certified Sustainable Gatherings programme.

Wellness offerings at the property feature the Bamford Wellness Spa in partnership with Carole Bamford.

Additional amenities include a fitness centre equipped with Technogym machines, a selection of exercise classes, an indoor pool, and landscaping designed to encourage urban biodiversity.

Sustainability measures at 1 Hotel Tokyo have led to CASBEE S certification for environmental performance.

The site utilises efficiency systems for energy and water conservation, along with refill stations throughout, to limit single-use plastics.

Reclaimed and local materials are used extensively across the hotel’s construction and interiors.

Guests also have access to a fully electric Audi Q6 e-tron as part of an initiative supporting zero-emission transport within Tokyo.

1 Hotels is the sustainable, nature-inspired lifestyle brand operated by Starwood Hotels.

Starwood Hotels CEO Raul Leal said: “From the thoughtful use of reclaimed materials to the operational rigour that enabled us to achieve Japan’s highest environmental certification, this hotel demonstrates how design excellence and sustainability can elevate one another at the highest level of luxury.”

“1 Hotel debuts first Japan location in Tokyo’s Akasaka Trust Tower” was originally created and published by Hotel Management Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
