Blackwired has partnered with NTT Security Japan KK to offer its ThirdWatch threat intelligence platform to customers in Japan through NTT Security’s security operations and managed services.

The agreement is Blackwired’s first partnership in Japan. It expands access to ThirdWatch and positions NTT Security Japan as a delivery channel for the platform’s threat intelligence and visualisation tools.

Platform rollout

ThirdWatch combines threat intelligence with a 3D threat visualisation layer. Blackwired also says the platform uses artificial intelligence for what it calls pre-emptive cyber defence.

Blackwired tracks and analyses activity associated with state-backed attackers and advanced cybercriminal groups in real time.

According to Blackwired, ThirdWatch draws on closed and proprietary sources and delivers curated threat intelligence on a continuous basis.

Blackwired positions the platform as an early warning system that surfaces attacker reconnaissance and preparation activity-stages it says traditional security tools often miss.

Jeremy Samide, Blackwired’s chief executive officer, said the platform is designed to prevent attacks rather than only respond after an incident.

“ThirdWatch is designed to predict and prevent cyber-attacks before they strike, reducing the risk of intellectual property theft, data loss, regulatory exposure and operational downtime,” he said.

He framed the approach as a response to how organisations manage cyber risk and operational resilience.

“That’s what pre-emptive cyber defence should look like in 2026. Organisations can no longer afford to wait for alerts after the breach, they need visibility into threats before impact,” Samide said.

NTT services

NTT Security Japan KK has provided security operations centre services and managed security services for more than 20 years. Under the partnership, it will add ThirdWatch to its portfolio and integrate the platform into service delivery.

Blackwired said NTT Security Japan will use the platform for earlier detection and prevention. Commercial terms and customer commitments were not disclosed.

The partnership targets organisations with complex exposure and large digital footprints, including public sector bodies responsible for national and critical infrastructure. It also includes specialist cyber defence providers and large enterprises with extended ecosystems of group companies and business partners.

Supply chain risk has become a recurring pressure point for Japanese organisations, particularly in industries that rely on interconnected operational technology and large vendor networks. Security teams have also faced rising volumes of intrusion attempts and a broader set of threat actors, increasing demand for prioritised intelligence and clear third-party visibility.

Against that backdrop, Blackwired emphasises identifying hostile preparation activity before a compromise occurs. NTT Security Japan’s operating model focuses on managed detection, incident response, and continuous monitoring for customers seeking outsourced or augmented capabilities.

Regional presence

Blackwired is headquartered in Singapore and has offices across North America, the UK, the EU and Asia-Pacific. It describes itself as a cyber threat intelligence specialist focused on monitoring state-sponsored and sophisticated criminal activity.

NTT Security Japan is part of the NTT Group and operates as a cybersecurity specialist in Japan. It provides services across risk prediction, diagnosis, defence, threat detection, incident response, and recovery.

The partnership is intended to expand access to ThirdWatch in Japan and support delivery of the platform through established operational security services in the local market.
