Countries across the Middle East have closed off their airspace amid the US-Israeli strikes on Iran and the country’s retaliatory attacks. The measures are impacting civilian air travel.
Reuters news agency on Wednesday cited information from the aircraft-tracking site Flightradar24 showing that some 21,300 flights have been canceled at seven major airports, including those in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha, since the strikes began.
Flight disruptions are expected to continue.
Etihad Airways said all flights to and from Abu Dhabi will be suspended until 2 p.m. Thursday, local time.
The Emirates airline said all scheduled flights to and from Dubai remain suspended until 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, local time. It said it would continue to operate a limited number of unscheduled flights on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Qatar Airways decided to suspend all flights until 9 a.m. Wednesday, local time.
