Klook, a leading experiences platform in the Asia Pacific, has released its Spring Readiness Index, revealing how travellers are gearing up for spring trips to Japan, South Korea, and Mainland China. The index, based on insights from 900 travellers across nine Asian markets, shows Japan as the top destination with 78% interest, followed by South Korea at 52% and Mainland China at 42%.

The index highlights a significant 57% increase in search interest for spring-related terms like “cherry blossom” and “sakura” from December 2025 to February 2026. This surge aligns with Klook’s Travel Pulse findings, which indicate that time-limited natural spectacles, such as flower blooms, are among the top experiences sought by travellers in 2026.

Travellers are increasingly opting for multi-destination itineraries, combining major cities with less-touristy spots. According to Klook’s data, emerging destinations such as Fukuoka, Nagoya, and Hiroshima in Japan, Gyeonggi-do, Gangwon-do, and Gyeongju in South Korea, and Qingyuan City, Yinchuan City, and Lijiang City in Mainland China are gaining popularity.

Despite concerns about crowding and missing peak seasonal moments, most travellers remain flexible, with 70% planning to book activities within two months of departure. Marcus Yong, Vice President of Global Marketing at Klook, notes, “Spring travel today reflects a more intentional mindset.”

To support travellers, Klook has introduced initiatives like the Bloom Back Guarantee, offering a 30% refund if cherry blossoms do not bloom as forecasted. Additionally, Klook has partnered with Everland in South Korea for exclusive cherry blossom tours, enhancing the spring travel experience
