Shohei Ohtani made time stand still as he commanded the rapt attention of a stadium full of enthralled fans — and the Chunichi Dragons — while sending baseballs all over Vantelin Dome Nagoya before an exhibition game on Friday night.
Ohtani, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ two-way superstar, returned to Japan last week to join the rest of his Samurai Japan teammates ahead of the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
“I hope we can communicate and work together as a team,” he said during his first news conference after joining his teammates.
