Amadeus Acquires SkyLink to Accelerate AI Adoption in Japan’s Travel Industry

Amadeus will acquire SkyLink and accelerate the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) in Japan’s travel industry.

SkyLink is a New York–based company that operates a corporate business travel platform. Built around autonomous workflows that understand travelers’ intentions, corporate policies, and operational constraints in real time, it enables complex business travel–related decision-making, such as search and booking management, through conversational interfaces embedded in companies’ Slack or Microsoft Teams. This allows companies to achieve significant cost reductions and productivity gains. To date, tens of thousands of bookings have been made through the platform.

Regarding the acquisition, Amadeus stated that it “further strengthens our strategy to roll out AI use cases that deliver meaningful value across the travel industry, based on scalability and operational realities, and building on Amadeus’ long-standing application of AI aimed at optimizing travel operations.”
