Japan greets hordes of tourists each year, with hordes heading to major attractions and landmarks across the country.
A whopping 41million holidaymakers are expected to flock to the country this year alone.

The top tourist attractions in Japan have been revealed by travel experts at Iglu Cruise, who analysed data from TripAdvisor on 60 of the most popular spots.
Located in Kyoto, the Samurai Ninja Museum could be worth adding to your Japan itinerary, as it came out as the highest-rated overall.
An impressive 81 per cent of its 1,898 reviews on the site were five-star and the museum delves into Japan’s rich history, with a particular focus on samurai culture.

Visitors can gaze at samurai armour on display, including authentic Edo-period Katana and Wakizashi swords.
The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum followed in second place, with 71 per cent of its reviews being five-star.
The site educates visitors about the atomic bomb in Hiroshima that occurred back in 1945 and features personal artefacts as well as survivor testimonies.
Aside from museums, Japan has plenty of other cultural and historic places to check out, including the Eikando Zenrinji Temple.
Ranking third, the site is a 1,200-year-old Buddhist temple that was originally founded back in 853AD.
The Todai-ji was named as one of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara by UNESCO.
Meanwhile, Mount Fuji – Japan’s highest peak at 3,776 metres tall – placed fifth and is a popular place for hikers to explore.
Some 200,000 climb the peak every year and it was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013.
TeamLab Planets TOKYO, a museum in the capital, followed and Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine ranked seventh.

The Hakone Open-Air Museum placed eighth, and the Sanjusangendo Temple and Himeji Castle rounded off the top 10.

‘A country known for its warm hospitality, delicious food, efficient transport, incredible landscapes and rich history, it’s no wonder so many people from all over the world are visiting Japan.
‘Social media has also played a part, with Gen Z and younger audiences seeking safe, aesthetic, and unique travel experiences.’
