We begin at Shukkeien Garden, a peaceful 400-year-old landscape garden rebuilt after 1945, and one of the best places to start your morning in Hiroshima. From there, we visit the Atomic Bomb Dome and then Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, where the city’s history is explained through monuments, memorials, and a path designed to guide you from tragedy to hope. We also stop at the Children’s Peace Monument to understand the story behind the paper cranes and why it matters to people around the world.

After the heavy history, we shift into modern Hiroshima at Hondori Shopping Street, a covered arcade full of shops, food, and everyday city life. Next up is the Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum (right by Shukkeien), where you’ll see how artists responded to Hiroshima’s past through paintings and exhibitions. Then it’s time to eat: we go to Okonomimura, a multi-floor food spot where you can try Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki cooked in layers on a hot grill.
