FIRST Cherry Blossoms in Tokyo 2026! Kawazu Sakura Walking Tour – 4K HDR

Spring has officially arrived early in Tokyo! 🌸

While most people wait until late March for the famous Somei Yoshino blossoms, the Kawazu-zakura are already putting on a show. In my opinion, these are actually way prettier—they have those deep pink petals you usually see in anime or travel posters, and they’ve just started blooming this weekend thanks to the recent warm spell.

In this walk, we’re heading along the Old Nakagawa River (Kyunaka River) to see the rows of pink trees reflecting off the water. It’s one of my favorite “hidden” spots because it’s much quieter than the big parks.

I also took a quick trip over to Ueno at the end of the video to check on the trees near Shinobazu Pond. They’re just starting to pop, and the pink against the pond backdrop is always a vibe.

These blossoms are beautiful but fleeting—if the wind picks up, they’ll likely only be around for another week or so. I hope you enjoy this early taste of the 2026 sakura season!
