One of the biggest sneaker surprises of 2025 was Nike, Inc.’s sprawling Air Jordan 11 30th Anniversary collection. Typically restricted to just a handful of releases in a single calendar year, Jordan Brand went all out for the anniversary celebration, creating nine different colorways of the iconic sneaker, five of which were regional-exclusive styles. With Atlanta, China, Houston and Las Vegas-themed pairs already having been released, the ultimate launch is now just over a week away.
The Japan-exclusive Air Jordan 11 Retro Tokyo is one of the most intricately detailed versions of the model to arrive at retail in its three-decade history. With a Light Bone/Phantom/Sail/Light Bone color combination, the neutral release gets its inspiration from Japanese post-war souvenir jackets.
Known as sukajan in Japanese, the jackets are represented on this special Air Jordan 11 style with an embroidered goat graphic on the nylon tongue. The Air Jordan 11’s traditional patent leather mudguard is replaced with shiny gray gradient leather, which is presumably a nod to the satin material found on souvenir jackets, while the pre-yellowed outsole features another reference notating Michael Jordan’s championship wins.

Ahead of its official launch, the Tokyo Air Jordan 11 Retro is commanding premium aftermarket prices, although some of the asking prices may not be as inflated as expected. As of publishing, several sizes are priced around $450 on secondary marketplace GOAT.
While this Tokyo release will officially cap off the Air Jordan 11’s 30th Anniversary releases, there’s plenty more to come from the model later in the year. The fan-favorite Space Jam style is set to return this holiday season for the first time since 2016 and will also reportedly receive an all-new Space Jam Galaxy treatment. And even sooner, a gold-tinged Air Jordan 11 Retro Low is set to be released in celebration of Mother’s Day.
The Air Jordan 11 Retro Tokyo will be released exclusively in Japan from select retailers on Feb. 26. Priced at 36,300 yen (around $235), the special-edition colorway’s style code is IQ3459-072.
