Hokkaido Café has officially launched its first flagship store in the heart of Thonglor Soi 10, positioning itself as a new lifestyle landmark in Bangkok’s vibrant dining scene. The opening marks a significant milestone for Mr Prachak Tangkaravakoon, Founder and Chairman of Hokkaido Shokupan Co., Ltd, as the brand makes a full-scale entry into the food and beverage industry with its premium “Hokkaido Café Experience”.
Inspired by the heritage of Hokkaido, Japan’s renowned dairy region, the café blends Japanese craftsmanship with global expertise through a partnership with Segafredo, a leading Italian coffee brand. Together, they aim to elevate everyday café culture by combining high-quality dairy products, artisanal Japanese-style bakery items and world-class coffee.
The grand opening, held on Valentine’s Day, reflected the brand’s philosophy of love, care and well-being. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Gen Surayud Chulanont, president of the Privy Council, and his wife, Col Thanpuying Chitravadee Chulanont, along with Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, and distinguished guests from the public and private sectors.
Mr Prachak said the idea behind Hokkaido Café stemmed from his passion for Japanese-style milk and yoghurt products, combined with modern production know-how and innovation. “We place the highest priority on ingredient quality to preserve freshness and authentic taste,” he said.
Signature offerings include Japanese shokupan bread, croissant loaves served with dipping cream cheese, croissant cups filled with special cream, shio pan, melon pan with a variety of fillings, and nama doughnuts featuring soft, chewy textures. The café also serves premium dairy products such as Sapporo soft-serve ice cream, fresh milk, yoghurt and sweetened condensed milk, all carefully selected to support healthy lifestyles from a young age.
Looking ahead, Hokkaido Café plans to introduce new product lines, including a “Hokkaido 3-in-1” management concept, while expanding through a franchise model. The brand also aims to enter modern trade channels and leading convenience stores, making its products more accessible nationwide.
Designed as a prototype store, the Thonglor flagship sets the standard for customer experience, operations and management, representing a key turning point for the Tangkaravakoon Group’s long-term F&B strategy. The café is open daily from 7am to 8pm. Updates and promotions are available on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok: @HokkaidoCafe.
With ambitions to expand across Thailand and into Southeast Asia, Hokkaido Café is positioning itself as a Thai brand with regional potential, built on quality, consistency and the distinctive charm of the Hokkaido experience.
