Absent from the courts since her withdrawal ahead of the third round at the Australian Open, Naomi Osaka is set to return in March for the Sunshine Double. In the meantime, the former world No. 1 seems well aware of the latest news and comments circulating about her.
“Watch another sport if it makes you uncomfortable”
Indeed, in an Instagram story, the Japanese player targeted the What’s The Call podcast, in which Theodora Petalas, ex-girlfriend of Stefanos Tsitsipas, criticizes in particular Osaka’s attitude during her second-round match against Sorana Cirstea in Melbourne.
Petalas considered the behavior of the four-time Grand Slam champion “very annoying,” to which Osaka responded:
“It makes me laugh when people who know nothing about tennis start a tennis podcast. How are grunts unsportsmanlike and make you uncomfortable? Watch another sport, lol.”
