Local police have launched an investigation after the body of a Korean man was found at Otaru City Eastern Beach, a famous tourist destination in Hokkaido, Japan.

According to the Hokkaido Shimbun on the 11th, Japanese police identified a man’s body found buried in sand on Otaru Dream Beach on the 5th and identified him as a Korean man in his 40s.

Police estimate that about 15-20 days have passed since Kim died. So far, no noticeable trauma has been reported.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances and causes of the death.
