Uniqlo operates more than 2,500 locations worldwide and is working to grow its presence in the US, aiming for 200 stores in North America by 2027.

The chain, founded in 1949, has about 78 US-based shops currently, and following strong sales performance, that number is about to go up.

Under Fast Retailing, Uniqlo is focusing on both established coastal markets and new cities such as Miami, Florida.

The Japanese clothing retailer is plotting to open two new massive stores in The 305 this fall, bringing its simple, functional, and affordable apparel to more customers along the East Coast.

The impending Miami locations will be the first in the city.

They come as part of a 15-store expansion for Uniqlo, with new stores expected to open in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Austin, Houston, and more in 2026.

Uniqlo’s USA CEO Fuminori Adachi previously shared the chain’s growth strategy going forward.

“These new stores are not only a milestone of our growth, but a way of honoring the customers who welcomed us two decades ago and continue to inspire everything we do,” he said.

“Our strategy is about thoughtful growth – opening the right stores in the right places – while ensuring every location reflects our customer’s voices and delivers a meaningful, high-quality experience.”

SHOPPING FRENZY

Shoppers are already expressing their excitement for the two new Miami stores on social media.

“Can’t wait for the Miami store!” said one Reddit user, as another wrote, “Hallelujah!!”

Once the new locations open their doors to guests, shoppers will be able to get their hands on Uniqlo’s signature lineup of LifeWear apparel as well as seasonal collabs, graphic T-shirts, and more.

Other modern conveniences at the Japanese retailer include self-checkout kiosks, alteration services, and RE.UNIQLO donation bins.

Uniqlo currently operates two locations in Florida, with one at Disney Springs and another at the Florida Mall.

As part of the company’s 2,500 store fleet, Uniqlo has major flagship locations in cities like New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, Bangkok, and Seoul.
