88rising’s Head in the Clouds festival has been a mainstay on the global festival circuit since launching in 2018. What began in California has since expanded to New York City, Jakarta, and Manila. This spring, the festival lands in the Land of the Rising Sun for the very first time, making its Tokyo debut on March 28 and 29.

Set to take over Makuhari Messe in Chiba City, just outside Tokyo, Head in the Clouds Tokyo is already stacked with heavy hitters. Day 1 [March 28] will feature BE:FIRST, Rich Brian, MAX, HANA, and Ayumu Imazu. Day 2 brings Chanmina [ちゃんみな], AI, Kvi Baba, BIBI, and MILLI to the stage. More artists are set to be announced for both days.

Over the past eight years, Head in the Clouds has become a rite of passage for Asian artists leveling up their global presence. With performers representing different corners of Asia — from Indonesia’s Rich Brian to Thailand’s MILLI — the Tokyo edition offers Japanese fans a front-row seat to the wider Asian music movement. As 88rising continues to expand its footprint across the region, Head in the Clouds Tokyo keeps the momentum going.
