The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies and Travel Advisors (ACTA) will hold its 2026 International Destination Conference in Yokohama, Japan this year from 29NOV to 04DEC, in partnership with the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO).

ACTA President Suzanne Acton-Gervais says the destination reflects current travel trends. “Canadians are travelling further and staying longer, with strong renewed interest in Asia. Hosting in Japan provides our members with a valuable opportunity to deepen their destination knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and return better equipped to serve their clients,” she said.

Advisors can book spots online until midnight PST, 03MAR. Only ACTA member travel advisors are eligible, with priority given to those holding a CTC or CTM designation. The conference is exclusively for travel advisors; companions are not permitted.

Registration costs CAD$799 for CTC and CTM members, CAD$899 for ACTA members, and covers single-occupancy accommodations, transfers, and food and beverage. Airfare to the conference is not included, but ACTA is working with airline partners to offer discounted rates. Details will be shared with advisors once they register. Members arriving in Japan before the conference must join the group on the official start date.

Participants will be notified by 12MAR if selected to join ACTA in Yokohama. Guests must agree to ACTA’s Code of Ethics and pay a non-refundable conference fee to be processed on 01JUN. Final conference details are still pending, but a preliminary itinerary has been shared.

“Canada continues to be a strong market for Japan tourism,” said Yuka Suzuki, Executive Director of JNTO’s Toronto office, “and as we come off another record-breaking year, we look forward to strengthening our partnerships to create meaningful, inspiring experiences for Canadian travellers.”
