The couple, married for 17 years after a 36-year relationship, were at New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido when a fellow traveller shared images online.
The photographs show Leung, dressed in a black tracksuit, appearing momentarily bewildered while navigating a security checkpoint. His bemused expression, directed towards his wife waiting nearby, prompted humorous commentary from observers. Carina Lau was photographed standing a short distance away, clad in a long brown coat and a blue beanie, calmly watching the scene with her hands in her pockets.
