Klook, a pan-regional experiences platform in Asia Pacific, announces the opening of applications for Chief Spring Officer, a time-sensitive role created to help travelers navigate spring travel across Japan, South Korea, and Mainland China.

The March–April spring season is among the most operationally demanding travel periods in the region, shaped by a short-lived cherry blossom window, variable weather conditions, and peak-period crowds.

Despite these challenges, spring travel demand remains strong. Comparing the March–April period year-on-year, Klook saw experience bookings increase by 34% in Japan, 92% in South Korea, and 46% in Mainland China from 2024 to 2025, and anticipates this growth momentum in 2026.

Marcus Yong, Vice President, Global Marketing, Klook said, “Spring is one of the most rewarding and beautiful times to travel, but it also comes with an overwhelming amount of information, from search results to social feeds, about where and when to go. With so many opinions and predictions, it can be difficult for travelers to know what’s current, accurate, and actually works on the ground. Through the Chief Spring Officer role, we’re pairing on-the-ground spring expertise with Klook’s range of quality curated experiences, so travelers can rely on verified guidance and navigate peak season with greater clarity and confidence.”

The Chief Spring Officer will deliver live insights during peak spring season, translating firsthand travel experiences into practical guidance, content, and recommendations to support trip planning and on-ground movement.

The role aligns with Klook’s focus on experience-led discovery and travel intelligence. The selected candidate will monitor bloom progression, respond to changing on-ground conditions in real time, and test curated Klook experiences, including rail passes and walking tours, to ensure recommendations remain relevant throughout the season.

In conjunction with Klook’s 2026 Spring campaign, the Chief Spring Officer will lead spring travel content and share insights across Japan, South Korea, and Mainland China.

The role will focus on identifying spring travel experiences, supporting travelers during peak periods, and translating firsthand spring travel experiences into actionable content, insights, and recommendations.

Key responsibilities include monitoring and tracking spring bloom patterns, providing real-time on-ground insights and content from Japan, South Korea, or Mainland China, logging 15,000–25,000 steps daily to assess timing, locations, and experiences, managing Klook’s social media accounts during the spring season, responding to changes in weather conditions, crowd density, and bloom progression, and testing Klook experiences including rail passes, day tours, cafés, and onsen.

Applications for the Chief Spring Officer role are open for a limited time. Individuals with firsthand experience traveling during spring in Japan, South Korea, or Mainland China are encouraged to apply.

Candidates based in Mainland China, Japan, or South Korea, or those with confirmed spring travel plans to these destinations, will be preferred.

The selected candidate will receive a sponsored travel opportunity to at least one spring destination across Japan, South Korea, or Mainland China between 20 March 2026 and 10 April 2026, with coverage of in-destination activities. Access to seasonal spring experiences on Klook will be provided. Flight and hotel coverage may be offered on a case-by-case basis, at Klook’s discretion.

Applications close on 12 February 2026 at 23:59 GMT+8.
